Finally, we are almost there! After many steps, countless hours of prayer and over a months investment of energy . . . we are almost there! It’s an amazing sight to see young people, college students, and people from every generation and background come together to bow before God for our church, and for each other.
Immediately, anyone involved realizes that it’s not about First Baptist Church, not about a place, not about Ecclesia. This belongs to the Lord. This campaign is not so much about coming to church, or reading these devotionals, but about coming to the throne of the Living God wherever we are, every day.
The ground we kneel on today is not special in and of itself, yet as we focus our hearts to meet Him today, and as He comes in power to meet with us, this ground becomes holy ground. A sacred place. Set apart to the Lord.
Our hope and prayer is that we offer ourselves in worship, we, as a church united, can build a memorial here to the Lord. An everlasting monument of our willing obedience in worship. A memorial of our lives for the glory of God.
We are here because He is worthy. We are here because we believe He is all we need.
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:11
Father, our hearts are racing, filled with expectation as we draw near to You. Today, our memories are flooded with Your mighty acts of old, Your mysterious ways in ages past. Our thoughts are filled with Your faithfulness in the past and all of who You are. There is nowhere else I would rather be than here with You. You are the source that is pure and good. You alone satisfy my soul
Pour out Your Spirit as we proclaim Your glory in this place. Assist us as we join our lives in the solemn vow to be Yours, now and forever, until every person on planet earth hears Your Name.
Father, I am here, fully tuned to You. Open. Ready. Willing. Prepared. Forgiven. Cleansed. Expectant. Sober. Still. Humble. All. For Jesus, Amen!
My all for You.
