What to Expect
Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you’re an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit Belle Glade’s First Baptist Church.
Here’s our attempt to guess what’s on your mind and answer your questions. If we’ve missed something, let us know! You’re probably not the only one with that question, so asking us will help us help you and future guests.
What is your Sunday schedule?
Our Sunday Morning Worship Service starts at 10:45 am. Sunday Bible studies meet at 9:30 am. Our Cafe ministry starts at 9:00 am, so come early and get a little breakfast and something to drink.
What do I wear?
You’ll see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays. Our concern isn’t what’s on the outside, but what’s on inside. Come as you are. Besides, Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn’t we?
Where do I park?
We set aside reserved parking for first time guests in our front parking lot — conveniently by our main entrance. General parking is also available in other parking lots all around the church, activities building, and gymnasium–and we even have off-site parking nearby.
Is there anything for my children?
Of course! We have Sunday options for newborns through high school seniors, including special times of worship designed just for the younger kids:
- Nursery and Sunday School is for newborns through Kindergarten located downstairs in our nursery and preschool area.
- Kids’ Church is for Kindergartners through 6th graders at 10:45 am upstairs in the Kids Church area.
How will I find a Bible study?
Take a look at our online listing of classes. That could give you some idea as to where you might want to go. On Sunday, stop by the Cafe and a First Impressions Team member can show you a listing of Sunday Bible studies, including a map of where each one is located. Believe us — our goal is get every guest and member into a Sunday Bible study so we’ll go out of our way to help you get connected!
Your building is pretty big. How will I find my way around?
Our Campus Map and a thorough wayfinding system with plenty of signage will help a lot. But the best way is to stop by the Cafe and our volunteer First Impression Team members will love to show you where you’re going — and even walk with you to make sure you find your way.
In the church I grew up in, some people had “their” seats. What if I unknowingly sit in somebody’s seat?
Don’t worry about it. Sit wherever you want. Nobody has a claim on a seat. In fact, we’ll even let you save seats for your family and friends!
May I bring my venti, three-pump vanilla, two-pump caramel, non-fat, no foam, extra hot, upside-down, stirred, extra-extra caramel drizzle, caramel machiatto into church?
Yes — but only if you bring one for the rest of us. (Just kidding, of course. Kinda.) Yes, you may bring your drink with you. However, be sure to finish it before you enter the Worship Center. That’s the one place food and beverages are not permitted. By the way, why not save your money and get coffee at church in our cafe? It’s free and usually comes with a doughnut, waffle, or healthy options like fresh fruit!
